THE NEXT LUCKY IS HERE! Just in time for the holidays.
And what a holiday season it’s proving to be for Lucky.
Teddie, Lucky’s first love, wanted for murder, flees to Macau, the Vegas of the Far East.
Lucky’s hotel empire hangs on the brink of ruin at the hands of Mr. Cho, a shadowy member of the Chinese underworld in Macau.
Irv Gittings, an old nemesis, is apparently holding all the cards as he gloats under the protection of Mr. Cho.
A confrontation in Macau is inevitable.
Yep, one heck of a Christmas for Lucky.
With the opening of her own hotel approaching, her birthday in a few days, and a new fiancé less than pleased at the prospect of his intended chasing the world after a former lover, Lucky’s stocking is filled with nothing but bad choices.
But can she find Teddie, pluck him from the clutches of the bad guys, and save her family’s gambling empire before Irv Gittings turns the tables on her and kills them all?
This Lucky adventure was super fun to write. A research trip to Macau and Hong Kong was a terrific perk. I couldn’t have written this story without going there and seeing things for myself. What an exotic, evocative world!
I hope you enjoy Lucky’s adventures in this wonderful place as she is joined by Miss P, the Beautiful Jeremy Whitlock (who take a break from their honeymoon) and the young Detective Romeo, in her attempt to rescue Teddie, bring the real murderer to justice, rid the world of Irv Gittings for good, and save her hotel in the process.
It will take all of them to stay ahead of Mr. Cho and Irv Gittings, but the odds are not on their side.
Lucky the Hard Way, is available everywhere! Well, where books are sold, anyway…
Amazon | Apple | B&N | Kobo
Hope you enjoy!

Dear Ms Coonts,
I have practiced criminal defense for 30 plus years, including several years in Las Vegas. In the course of my practice I met many security personnel and Customer Relations executives for casinos. Frankly, you are spot on with your portrayal of Lucky O’Toole. I simply enjoy the heck out of your novels. Your script is fun, but not silly. Your stories (and twists) are engaging and very entertaining.
I am definitely a huge fan. Keep on writing kid!
Sincerely,
Jim
P.S. Renee Raudman brings Lucky to life. Please insist that your publisher continues to use Renee.

Hi Jim!
Wow!! High praise indeed! Through the course of the stories, I’ve worried about getting Lucky right. I’ve done a lot of research, talked with a lot of folks, but you never know. And I had to get it right for the Vegas folks who know!! I’m so glad you enjoy Lucky. I wanted to have fun with the stories and the whole Vegas magic, but, as you said, I didn’t want to be silly. Lucky has to have depth and to grow and change. That’s the only way I can be proud of the stories and stay interested, quite frankly. We all grow and change–or at least, I hope we do:) Thank you so much for you kind words–you really made my day!! I am working to book Renee for the rest of the series, but I have to stand in line–she’s quite wonderful and popular as a result! She’s also one heck of a nice person!
All the best! And again, may thanks!
Deborah

Hi Deborah.
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for the Lucky series!! I read all 7 book in the last week and absolutely love them! I’m abit saddened by the fact that already I’ve read them all and there aren’t more to read. Will there be more added to the series? (Wishful thinking) I love coming across a set that I wholly enjoy each and every book within it’s own right. You have done a tremendous job!!
Regards
Tiffany

Hurry..Hurry..Hurry!! I can’t wait to be a part of Lucky’s wedding!! I have enjoyed these tremendously. Normally with a long series focussing on the same character I get bored and will put them down..not so with Lucky and her gang!! Cheers to y o u and this amazing group of books!
Deborah Coonts says
Angie! Thank you! A million thank yous! I, too, often tire of long series. I’ve always said I’d write Lucky as long as she keeps me interested. If she stops being fun for me, then she won’t be fun for anyone else. So far she’s got my attention. Glad her stories are still interesting to you as well! That keeps me going! Ah, a wedding…hmmmm. I think we need to go to France, meet the potential in-laws and see Jean-Charles in his natural habitat, don’t you:)?
Angie Keller says
Yes…when will we head to Paris?? I am having withdrawals after reading all 8 books and 4 novellas in two weeks. I would hate to catch a ride to Vegas and find Lucky and the gang!????
Deborah Coonts says
Soon, very soon. I just got back from six weeks there:) Yes, a bucket list thing, but research also. But most of the story will take place in Monte Carlo and Provence:) The next book may be set in Vegas and then we go to France–haven’t decided. Working on that now.I can’t believe you read all of that in TWO weeks! Thank you! wish I could write as fast as you read.
Angie Keller says
Ditto!! I went several nights with 3 and 4 hours sleep!! On top of reading your series, I worked 10 hour days and completed 2 crochet projects!! Multi-tasking master!!
Deborah Coonts says
Goodness! I’d be non-functional! Boy, you know how to get stuff done!
